Kylie cosmetics mini matte lipstick collection

I'm a bit late jumping on the Kylie Cosmetics bandwagon. Primarily because I was put off my shipping and custom charges. I'd waited and waited and been lucky enough to try out some of my friends purchases so when it did come round to getting some for myself I was sure I wanted them.
When the birthday edition mini matte collection was announced I couldn't resist I had 2 other friend who wanted them 2 so we decided to put an order in together on the first night they where released. We where so lucky to secure the items we wanted because I heard that everything sold out so quickly.
I was super impressed with how quickly the package arrived, yes we where charged customs but that was expected and split between us all it wasn't too bad.
The shades in the kit are: Leo, Candy K, Exposed, Dolce K, Koko K and Kristen.
Leo which is the most perfect burgundy and the nude Candy K are my favourites.
The pigmentation is great and they are a true matte. Aplication is easy with the doe foot applicator and I find that they apply really evenly with the exception of leo that needs two coats to get an even finish.
I've had a few brands liquid matte lipsticks and Kylie cosmetics in my opinion are the best. NYX bleed like mad and don't last. Mac are good but I still feel like the Kylie ones last longer on the lips. I'm talking a good solid 6 hours at least they with stand food and drink like a dream and they don't transfer easily. They are a little drying - nothing too bad and thats to be expected with a matte lip. I am genuinely impressed.
I would 100% buy more of these and maybe some full size ones when these little ones run out.

Have you tried any Kylie Cosmetics?

The Police Museum : Manchester

Since I was a little girl I've always been hugely interested in the police and crime. My favourite museum happens to be The Police Museum in Manchester. It's only small and from that I can see , seems to be staffed my ex officers but its so interesting.  I'd been before but F hadn't so whilst we both had time off over my birthday I decided we should have a day in Manchester and go. It's only open a few hours and only once or twice a week so it'd best to check the website butit's totally worth it.
It's in the northern quarter so can easily be combined with a day of shopping like we did.
You get to read about lots of crimes, se confiscated weapons and learn a little about the history of the Manchester Police force.

Like I said every one that works there seems to be an ex officer or a current officer. When we visited members of the under water excavation team where there and where really friendly chatting to everyone and letting kids - and me - try on some of the equipment. You get to sit in and old police cell and here about for of the crimes committed an there punishments from hundreds of years ago.

It's defiantly worth visiting - it's free but I donated a small amount and bought some bits in the gift shop because I wanted to contribute something to this amazing little place.

We where in the museum for about an hour - you could spend longer and your very welcome to but it's only small.

The rest of the day was spend shopping and eating burgers at Almost Famous.
Brilliant day.

The Clog Market : Rawtenstall

The first sunday of every month The Clog Amrket is held in Rawtenstall. The Clog Market is a beautiful collection of stalls specialising in handmade and vintage along side artisan food and local music. Last time we went I really enjoyed the atmosphere so when I realised that one would be held on my birthday I thought it would be the perfect way to spend my morning. I tweeted saying that I was looking forward to spending my birthday morning there and that I wanted to know if the newly refurbished temperance bar around the corner might be open!
Both the clog market and the bar got back to me straight away saying that they would be and that they look forward to seeing me, which i thought was very sweet. They then tweeted me a few days before the market asking if I was still coming and asking me to say hello.
For those who don't know  what a temperance bar is, it stems for the temperance movement and it a bar that docent serve alcohol. Instead it serves a huge range of other beverages from behind a bar. Anyway the one in Rawtenstall is the oldest original dating bake from 1899.
It's a lovely drive over the Rawtenstall and the weather was good to. We arrived and had a quick once  round the market. I was all socially awkward and didn't want to say hello yet so we went to the temperance bar.
It'd the cutest little place and has every flavour of cordial you could wish for. F had a dandilion and burdock and I ordered a rhubarb milkshake - the lady serving who /i believe is the owner recognised me from twitter and wished me a happy birthday and gave me the milkshake on the house.

The have done a beautiful job with the refurb and the atmosphere was super friendly. We picked up some bottles of cordial to take home with us before we left.

We went back to the Clog Market where some local music had started playing- I posted a clip of this on my instagram. It was getting busy by this point but I'm not surprised it's such a lovely little event. I did introduce myself to the lady who runs the whole thing and she surprised me with a plant, a balloon and a card wishing me a happy birthday from the Clog Market. I was totally blown away by her kindness. The card was even customised to say my name. We spent another hour pottering around buying bits, listening to music and stroking the many dogs that attend this market.

It was such a lovely start to my birthday. I totally recommend the Market as a nice morning out for anyone who can get to the area. They are planning 2 more before they stop for the winter with the last one being a christmas market.
For more information go to @clogmarket on twitter.

Huge thank you to those at the market and the bar and also F for his award winning company.

I had such an amazing birthday. I went out for drinks, ate amazing food when to a market, was truly spoilt, made a huge buffet, spent time with amazing people, slept, ate cake, went to manchester, treated myself and felt super lucky.
You can have a look at what I was up to on my instagram.

Thank you.

I do like a matte lip and I'd had my eye on these MAC matte lip pencils for a while but haddnt bought one till they ended up in the sale with 30% off.  First off I ordered the red, but once that had arrived I was so smitten with the formula I ordered the other two.
MAC claims they offer the vivid colour impact of a lipstick with the ease of a mechanical pencil - great. I have to agree that formula is second to none, not a true strong matte but a creamy matte that isn't drying on the lips. Wear time is that of your regular Mac lipstick which is fine by me. The shape is great and easy to line but thick enough to fill in  the lips. I love that it twists up and the shape is so sleek.

Reddy to go - This is my kind of red, dark, strong, slightly cool toned, i did find this one the longest lasting of the three.
Aim to please - a deeper toned version of my natural lips.
Oh honey - I'm really in to brown/nudes at the moment and this is the one I find myself going to the most. (pictured below)

I would like them in more shades and I'd love it if they extended the range.
What are your favourite Mac products?

02 August, 2016

A couple of weeks ago I got a free MAC lipstick using the Back to MAC scheme. I mentioned it on Facebook and I was shocked that some of my mates hadn't heard of it . This made me wonder how many other people have no idea about the scheme and just throw away there old make up.

If you are one of those that don't know about Back to MAC then this is going to blow your mind.

Once you have finished with your MAC make up product save the packaging (not the box - just the actual plastic) when you have 5 items you simply take them in to a MAC store or concessions and they with give you a lipstick of your choice. For free. I've done this a few times over the years and it has always been totally hassle free.

Most plastic packaging counts in the scheme along as its plastic. Also if it was a set, for example or 4 pigments all 4 only count as one, because they where a set. Other than that it's simple.
