Collection 2000

For a while I’ve been using foundations that are too dark or too light in a quest to use them up. So when they finally finished I wanted to find a foundation that I would be really happy with. For me a foundation should cover everything and last for ages. I like to feel like I’m putting something on my skin; suffice to say I’m not a tinted moisturiser type of girl. I’ve previously used Revlon colourstay and been pretty happy with it so I figured I’d get that again but when I got to boots I felt my self drawn toward the Estee Luder counter and if it wasn’t for the unfriendly lady on the counter I may have bought it.

HOWEVER I’m so glad that she was a sour faced bitch who totally put me off giving her my money because I then wandered past collection 2000. I’ve been using the concealer for ages and like many other bloggers I totally recommend it so I thought I’d give the foundation a chance.

I use medium in the conealer and the foundation is shade 3 which is called biscuit.DSCN0465
This foundation is similar to Revlon Colourstay if not a little thicker. The pump cap is great and means you don’t waste product. In my quest for the perfect foundation I did try out a sample of chanel foundation vitalumiere which  was great and made my skin soft but didn’t have quite as much coverage and with a £33 price tag I don’t think it compares to the collection 2000 at £5.99.

Skin before: pink, blotchy, spots and freckles

Skin after: much better Just applied with fingers and not using a primer
The foundation has an SPF 20 in it too which is always a bonus and it lasted perfectly from application at 11am till I took it off (which took a good scrub) at 11pm. I'm so pleased with this foundation and very pleased with the price tag.
Have you found any beauty bargains recently?

  1. I want to try the Collection 2000 foundations because I've heard really good things. The shades don't run pale enough though, even though the concealer is a really good match for me :(

  2. Same as RaeRae the shades aren't light enough for me which is a real pity as this has good coverage

  3. I always look at this in Boots but as above it's just not light enough! Maybe if I mixed some of my white foundation in?

  5. Hell, that IS good coverage! But I think your freckles are too cute to cover up.
I good a Revlon 'goodie bag' at TK in Manchester. It was a fiver, yellow label, (which means they make no profit on it). There was an eyeshadow pallette that had had one of the colours broken. It had crumbled over everything, which I think is why no one had bought it. Took it back to the hotel, cleaned it up and was chuffed to find a lippy, a lip stain, a mascara, a lipgloss and 2 complete shadows. Bargain!

  15. It seems we have more in common by the day! I've been using this foundation since about November last year and so far I have been really impressed, over all it is a really good coverage. I've got shade 2 in Ivory and it's perfect for my skin tone.
At the time it was on offer, so I think I ended up paying something silly like £3.99! Total bargain.
Not tried the concealer though, I've been using my Rimmel one up, so will def be investing in that now :) xxx
