Tell Me About Yourself

I was tagged in this award by the brilliant Hazel. I always love getting awards like this it’s great and I enjoy reading them too.

For the seven facts part of this award I’ve decided to relate all my facts to blogging.

1. I’ve been blogging for 8 months and I read blogs almost everyday.

2. I’m not sure how many people in real life know/read my blog but it’s not a secret.

3. When people ask me questions about my blog I always struggle trying to define what it is, any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated?

4. My first blog post was this

5. My OH writes a blog about gaming and films.

6. My initial idea was to start a blog were I posted my writing (YA fiction, short fiction and Poetry) Then I realised I was to chicken to do this on a regular or even semi regular basis so I decided to start this instead. I did post a poem up once, here.

7.One of the very best things about blogging is all the lovely people I’ve come in to contact with. From my experience most bloggers seem to be lovely. I had the pleasure of meeting a few at the NW blogger meet in Manchester and I’ve spoken to lots of great girls on Twitter. One girl in particular stands out she was one of my first followers and one of the first girls to talk to me on twitter coincidently the blogger who gave me this award, she is now one of my best friends.
Isn’t blogging great?!

OOTD: Warm and cosy

As promised I am shearing my winter outfit with you. After buying the leggings and cardi I couldn’t wait to wear them but typically the weather didn’t play along and I ended up boiling hot in Manchester during the freak September heat wave we have been having. ANYWAY I really like this outfit and after ripping me about my entirely woolly outfit my OH admitted that he liked it too.

Haul: winter warmers

This haul of joy was made possible over the past two weeks because of my brilliant boyfriend and mother donating money to the “Danielle has very little money and wants warm clothes” foundation.
100_7783100_7785
Cardigans Primark £12 each. I really like the over sized slouchy style and the chunky knit of these cardigans and the only other cardigan I saw that I liked just as much was £45 from Miss Selfridge. I don’t think £12 is too bad but before finding these I picked up a different cardi and that was £18, £18 from Primark – what is the world coming too. I bet your sick of hearing people moan but I’m appalled I remember going in to Primark with £20 and coming out with a full bag. Coats seem to be around the £30 mark and Dresses £15. I know on the grand scheme of things this is still cheap but I can’t help feeling ripped off.
Itchy, Jazzy,Wool-esque Primark leggings £10. I’m pretty sure that aside from myself and my mother there are very few people who would sequel in delight at the sight of such an offensive item. However to me they scream out “come and your cold pale legs in my warmth.” I am happy to oblige. I am wearing them out today I will take photos. My OH will be seeing them and I have the feeling he will laugh at the sight of me however I will keep you informed.
Scrabble Dictionary The Works 99p. This will hopefully make scrabble games alot more harmonious and help us avoid the almost inevitable “scrabble rows” that seem to be a prominent feture of past games.
Eyelashes are on 3for2 in Boots and Superdrug. Mum bought two packs of individual lashes and I got to choose the free pair. That’s mother daughter love right there.
I have been trying to avoid RiverIsland because I want most things in stock at the moment.
Have you bought anything snuggly? What do you think of Primarks prices?

Curly Wurly

This week has been up and down and ridiculously hectic. I’m back at home cuddled up with the cat mopping because I am currently missing an amazing Vintage fair in Salford because I can’t afford to get there/buy anything. BOO. This week I have enrolled on my MA course which I am looking forward to starting properly next week.

A few weeks ago I bought a Babyliss Curling wand from the brilliant Flutter and Sparkle blog sale. I love them to bits.
My hair is not naturally curly or straight its BUSHY. When I do straighten my hair it only last a few hours. However when I used the babyliss tongs it lasts a lot longer the curls drop but don’t vanish like when I use my GHD’s to curl. The best bit is my hair still looks wavy the next day.

I like to go for the messy look by brushing out my curls a little and spraying with hair spray.

100_7747I can’t seem to keep away from my nail art pens . I’m still trying to find a job because I have no money to go out so staying in with my nail art pen’s is as exciting as it get at the moment.

Big Boots

100_7718100_7712100_7714100_7715
Comfy boots that come up to my kneesDichmann appeared in Blackpool a few years ago and I really didn’t pay much notice to it but over the past few years it has completely won me over mainly because of these boots. I have “chunky” calves, and sometimes its tricky finding boots that I can wear in the winter with socks and jeans tucked in. So when I found these beauties I was super pleased to find they fitted with room as do all boots I’ve tried on in Dichmann. I’m a size 7 sometimes an 8 and I believe Dichmenn go up to a 44 which is a 9. They have a website and delivery is free. ( I’m not on commission I just like sharing my favourite shops with my readers!) I really love these and these

I also had a go at dip dying my hair, I was planning on bleaching the front again but I had noticed the hair was becoming “grim” and “pube-like” so I went for the dip dye instead. I’m rather happy with the outcome I’m calling it my autumnal hair.

Have any one tried Lee Stafford 'For Hair that never Grows past a certain Length' I've just bought some because it sound pretty amazing!

Do you struggle with boots? Changed your hair?

Pretty Fingers

Inspired by my new nail art pens that I blogged about HERE I have had a go at floral nail art.
I used Beths blue by MO as the base colour then I used my new nail art pens for the flowers and detail.
100_7665100_7661100_7662
I’m really impressed with the results I honestly didn’t think the pens would be so easy to use! I’m very glad I bought them because hopefully it will stop me lusting after new nail art goodies when I really can’t afford it. Talking about new nail art goodies has anyone tried the new Nails INC magnetic polish? Or has anyone tried Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, it looks amazing but sadly it will have to be another item on the christmas list.

Do you wear glasses?

I’ve needed glasses since high school but I don’t wear them 99% of the time because as crazy as it sounds I’ve never got used to them. When I wear them I’m very a wear that I have something on my face and I find it uncomfortable also my false lashes hit the lenses. I wear them in lectures and for gigs so I can see the stage. When I learn to drive I will have to wear them for driving. Over the years I’ve accumulated 3 pairs 1 designer and 2 pairs from Glassesshop.com I can’t speak highly enough of the cheap frames the two (rather gawky pairs) I have bought from the glasses shop have been less that £15 each including my prescription.
They are cheap and plastic, everything appears to come from china and is charged in dollars but delivery has always been prompt and as far as I can tell the prescription is spot on. They are great if you want a change but don’t want to spend a lot of cash. (L-R brown Glassesshop, Zebra print Tommy Hilfiger, Black Glassesshop, my own eyes.)
GLASSES
Do you wear glasses? Have you ever tried cheap glasses sites? Which pair do you like?

Ps. I just thought I'd let you know that the gorgeous Hazel from Tales of a little Hazzelnut is having "technical issues" with her laptop so she hasnt been able to post. As soon as her laptop is fixed/replaced she will be back.

Ebay Nail Art Pens

I ordered these nail art pens over a month ago and with each week I grew more and more sceptical over there quality I mean I paid less than £10 for 24 nail art pens I wasn’t expecting much but I couldn’t have been more wrong.100_7652
I received a great range of colours and each pen came with a little pin attached to the bottom to prevent blockages.  The pens feel of a similar quality to other more expensive brands I have tried. The varnish its self smells funny, not bad just funny. Like poster paint or acrylic paint but it does the job perfectly so I’m not complaining.

100_7654
I find them just as good as other brands and for such a bargain price  I really recommend them to anyone who enjoys nail art I got my pens from Ebay via THIS LISTING

OOTD: Summer Is Over

Any trace of summer has vanished and it has been replaced by weather warnings, wind and rain. Honestly it feels like the middle of winter so I’ve been hunting out all my winter woollies (I seem to have a rather large collection of horrendous jumpers) hats, scarf’s and gloves, plus ear muffs and wool tights!

My outfit was pretty plain really just Skinny jeans and a vest that I layered up with cosy goodies.
100_7638
I have a thing for big hats, floppy hats, furry hats and during winter I become somewhat attached to a hat. This particular hat came from River Island for about £6 in the sale. 100_7648My jumper is one from my collection of ugly knitwear from Primark and my scarf is my favourite and it’s from H&M. 100_7639100_7643Big Teddy bear feet boots are by EMU this is the 3rd year of wear and they are still going strong. Okay I know they are not the most stylish choice and some people will hate them but I’m not one. Thick, warm, comfy, long lasting and surprisingly water proof last winter they saved me on my 5am commute to Manchester.
I’m sure you will see many more silly hats and items of dodgy knit wear from me over the next few months, what do you dig out to keep warm?
